Starting Out

As I begin I would like to lay some groundwork. This blog’s purpose is to stimulate imagination and innovation. To challenge the norms and mediocrity that plague Christianity and more specifically fundamental Christianity. I am not attacking or criticizing any particular individual, ministry or legitimate Biblical doctrine. I will however promise to evaluate, poke, prod and generally dissect traditions of men and morays that I feel are detrimental to relevance and advancement of the cause of Christ.

I grew up a Pastor’s son in midst of the fundamental environment. I have participated in the major fundamental “camps”, graduated from a Baptist College and dedicated my life to the ministry following in the footsteps of my Father and many other fine examples in my life.

My motivation is not discouragement but rather encouragement. To build up the body of Christ through constructive observation and criticism. I do not have a personal vendetta and most of what I say is personal preference or observation. So under individual soul liberty you do not have to agree with me.

The only thing I ask of you is to think and ask yourself if what I am saying has legitimacy or not.

From a small child I have been observant. As I have grown I have observed many things both good and bad in Christianity as a whole and fundamentalists in particular.

This will not be a journey for the faint of heart. If you are up to the journey then climb aboard and enjoy the Faith Portrait.

The purpose of this blog is to challenge Christian traditions of men. To challenge the validity of methods. To try define what methods are effective for the 21st Century and which ones hopefully will fall by the wayside. To give a portrait of faith and ministry in our post-modern age.
